Final Choir Concert  / Your Mom (MOM)
May 25th was the final choir concert for the year. The men' s choir sang the song that they sang at the funeral "Homeward Bound". While they were singing they ran a slide show of pictures of Matt through the years. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. Matts scholarship this year went to Brandon Price. The choir gave me flowers since it was my birthday, it was so nice for them to do.
 But honestly the best present that they could give was what they did for Matt. 
We appreciate that the class of 2006 and the choir have not forgotten him and have included him in everything. They miss  Matt. He really touched so many lives in his  time here with us. Nikki went up and recieved his senior flower in
his honor, she was crying so hard. Mr Bushey said the whole choir was crying in the back. Before the concert started, I got the men's choir outside and took a picture of them with Matts tree. When we walked in, the whole choir men's and women's were singing Happy Birthday to Me. They are a wonderful bunch of kids, and they miss Matt so much. All of Matt's family was there to see their brothers choir memorial. It was hard I know but how awesome that Matt made such an imprint on so many people. We are proud to be his family.

The Monson/Yack Memorial Skate  / Matt's Mom (Mom)
The memorial skate held on May 20th along with Howell History Days was great.
There was a DJ and three levels of competition. One kid came from Ohio took second place in one level and told us this was one of  the best skateparks he's been to and he travels to other states. He also said it was one of the best run skate board competitions he's been to. Matthews newphew Christopher was in the beginner level. He didn't place but he was there to represent his Uncle Matt. He did win a helmet in a raffel though. We all wore our Matt shirts.  We were called up before it started and they took our picture with the parks and rec director, they also gave us a framed large hand bill with Howell History Days and the memorial skate listed as one of the activities. They say that they will do this every year from now on. Matt was with us... He is smiling down as he wanted nothing more than to have a skate park here in Howell. I kept thinking about how good he would have been three years later. I know he would have been in the advanced level had he been here in body. I miss you Matt and I love you very much.
